The release of "Hades" 1.0 allows you to get the true ending of the game.

Full Release of Supergiant's 'Hades'

The game was initially launched in December 2018 as an early access release, but for long-time fans, the abundance of content had made them forget that the game hasn't been fully released until September of this year when the developers rolled out the official 1.0 release.

According to The Gamer, the only notable difference between the early access and the full game is the addition of the true ending, denoting that there are multiple endings that players can achieve.

So, what is the best and canonically accepted ending, and how do "Hades" players get it?

DISCLAIMER: The following guide will contain MAJOR SPOILERS. Read at your own risk.

The Final Boss

As noted, there really is not much of a difference between the early access and the final game, so like before, the final boss will remain to be Hades, Zagreus' father, as, after all, Zagreus has fought his way out of the Underworld, and it only makes sense for him to fight his father as the final opponent.

However, in the early access, Zagreus will end up getting killed and sent to the House of Hades where he can restart his journey--and that's even when you win.

But in the "Hades" 1.0 release, this is no longer true.

Upon winning, Zagreus will climb out of the Underworld and enter a new area: Greece.

There's really nothing you can do in Greece except do some fishing and talk to the only non-playable character in that area, Persephone, Zagreus' own mother.

Now, here's where it gets a little tricky.

How to Reach the True Ending

During your conversation with Persephone, she will tell Zagreus that he is bound to the Underworld much like his father, Hades and that he cannot remain in the realm of the living, so in the end, the main hero will fall ill and be sent back to where he began.

However, this time, the King of the Underworld will have placed a Pact of Punishment on the window that the hero uses to escape, which would add modifiers to each level to make them more challenging, as per ScreenRant.

However, it does reset the bounties for defeating the four bosses.

Basically, to reach "Hades'" true ending, you need to defeat Hades again and again.

The second time you defeat Hades and reach Greece, talk to Persephone again, and she will have a different dialogue, so you need to exhaust all of her possible dialogues by defeating the final boss a total of ten times.

This can get exhausting, but on the tenth run, Hades will finally let Zagreus pass, and by the time you reach Persephone for the final time, she will say it's time for her to return to the Underworld.

Zagreus and the goddess hitch a ride to the House of Hades through Charon's boat, going through the different realms of the Underworld, and while the credits roll, Orpheus and Eurydice can be heard singing "In the Blood."

Unlocking the Epilogue

But while some believe it's the last thing they can do, there are still tons of post-game content, including the Epilogue.

According to ShackNews, the requirements for unlocking the Epilogue is a little fuzzy, but practically, players have to reach the true ending and then keep on playing and beating the game multiple times until they can get a Heat Level 8.

Also, be on the lookout for an exclamation point on top of Persephone, and then interact with her for a new mission dialogue, which unlocks the "Hades" Epilogue many have been trying to unlock.

Some say having a high affinity with the Olympians can also help trigger Persephone's dialogue.
