"(I was given this recipe a few years ago). It is one everyone will ask for. I took it once to a Birthday Party and was asked for the recipe by at least 5 people including the host. These can be served for dinner on rice or taken to parties and kept warm in a crockpot until serving. They can also be made ahead of time and frozen."

  1. These were fantastic! I had been telling my husband about these that my mom made when I was younger. I made these exactly how it said to on here and they turned out great as far as flavor. I did put them in the crockpot with the sauce for about 30 mins after the oven just to soak up the juices. I served them over a bed of white rice. They were great! Fast, easy, delicious dinner and not too bad in the calorie department.

  2. Tweaked the recipe a little. Didn't add green pepper or onions. Also used ground beef instead of ground pork. THese are really good! DH loved the sauce and wants me to serve it on chicken soon. Served over rice! Will make again!

  3. These were very good. I took a few of them to my neighbor. She said they were by far the best ham balls she's had. She was a home economics teacher at one point. I didn't know what to do with the sauce. It doesn't say whether you should cook it first and then pour it over the cooked ham balls or what. I just mixed the sauce ingredients together, poured it over the raw ham balls, and baked them together.

  4. The recipe was very flavorful, but a few things were off in the recipe. I didn't need to use the milk because the meat had plenty of moisture. The measurement on the crumbs was way off. I ended up using about 3 sleeves of Ritz crackers to try to get the ham balls to stick together better. I only used about half of an onion and half a green pepper because I thought it might have a little too much flavor for me to serve it to my young kids. The sauce was delicious.

  5. These are good ham balls. I was looking for something different and found this . Glad I did, we liked them very much. The sauce is VERY sweet , but we liked that. I served these with a alfredo noodle casserole and cauliflower. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us, I'm thinking of having our butcher include ground ham with our next pig. So good.

  2. Used ground turkey instead of ground pork, doubled the sauce (short on brown sugar!) then served over rice. The kids and hubby loved them.

  3. These are really wonderful and a great way to use leftover ham! My kids LOVED them which is a 10-star recipe in my book. Used whole wheat bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs. Ran the ham through the food processor, then the onion and green pepper, so prep was very fast. Served with rice. Sauce is very sweet but pairs nicely with the saltiness of the ham. Thought leftovers were even better the next day. Thanks so much for sharing your recipe!
