Cucumbers – slice and cut out heart
Cheese slices – cut out hearts

My 1-year-old loves dipping things in basically anything, but especially hummus. I always have cheese, hummus, carrots, and cucumbers in my fridge and make this snack combination on a regular basis – it’s just dressed up here as a healthy Valentine’s snack!
Heart Sandwich Pretzel Pops
2 slices gluten-free cinnamon raisin bread (I like Canyon Bakehouse)
Almond butter or peanut butter
Gluten-free pretzel sticks (I like Glutino)
Make the sandwich, then cut each one into a small heart. Then, I thought it would be a cute idea to add a gluten-free pretzel for a handle. Add apples or other red fruit to round out this easy recipe.
Your kids can even dip the apples in nut butter to add in more healthy fats. My kids love these and they are perfect healthy Valentine’s recipe that doubles as a school snack!
Pizza My Heart Bagels
1 gluten-free bagel (I like Canyon Bakehouse or Trader Joe’s)
Pizza sauce (I like Trader Joe’s Pizza sauce)

Pepperoni (I like Applegate pepperoni) – cut out into a cute heart
To make this healthy snack, spread pizza sauce on both sides of the bagel. Sprinkle with cheese and top with the heart pepperoni. Broil for 3-4 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Have you tried pizza bagels? They are so easy and my kids love them for an easy lunch or dinner when I don’t feel like cooking. Cutting the pepperoni out like hearts easily turns these into healthy Valentine’s snacks for kids, and makes snack time feel like a special occasion!

Valentine's day trail mix: A fun and easy DIY Valentine snack for the classroom is trail mix. Combine pretzels, popcorn, dried fruit and a sprinkle of heart-shaped candies for a sweet and savory mix. Trail mix is a versatile snack for classroom parties that cater to various tastes.
Classic favorites include finger foods like cheese sticks, fresh fruit slices, and bite-sized veggies with dip. Portable and convenient snacks like granola bars, yogurt pouches, and trail mix are popular choices.
Sweet apples and salty nut butter are always a delicious combination and are pretty easy to pack as a nutritious school snack. Look for pre-sliced apples in the produce section of the store and single-serve nut butter squeeze packs or cups in the peanut butter section.
Raw vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers are a much healthier alternative to chips, specifically if you want to replace tortilla chips! Sliced raw vegetables still have that nice crunch that regular chips do, but contain virtually zero grams of fat.
Some options include: Fresh fruit: Offer sliced fruit like apples, oranges, strawberries, or grapes for a naturally sweet treat packed with vitamins and fiber. Yogurt: Choose plain or Greek yogurt and add a drizzle of honey or fresh fruit for sweetness. Yogurt is rich in protein and calcium.
Gummy candy should not be bland or boring. This chewy treat comes in various delicious flavors, such as Strawberry Daiquiri Hearts, Rosé All Day Bears, Pink Diamonds, Island Pineapples, Apple Frogs, Sour Frogs, Kombucha Bears, etc.
Petite includes red and white gummy hearts, pink and white gummy puffs, red and white gummy bears, red gummy pretzels, red and white gummy rings, and red and white heart-shaped nonpareils.
Pick foods that are high in fiber and low in added salt and sugar. Offer children fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain snacks instead of sweets. Foods that are naturally sweet (such as apple slices, bananas, bell peppers, or baby carrots) are better than foods and drinks that contain added sugar.
When planning a Valentine's Day fundraiser, you likely think of chocolates and roses. Flowers are a staple of this popular holiday. Roses are arguably the most popular flower you can start selling at your school. Nearly 28% of adults purchase flowers for a loved one or partner on Valentine's Day.
Secret Valentine: Have each student bring in a pre-made Valentine card for a secret Valentine. Have a drawing or use a randomizer to match up students. Valentine's Day party: Have a Valentine's Day party for the whole school where students can decorate cookies or cupcakes, play games, and exchange small gifts.
Keep a variety of nutrient-rich, ready-to-eat foods nearby to snack on when hunger hits. This will help lessen the temptation of less healthy options from vending machines, break rooms or convenience stores. Ideas include fresh fruit, air-popped popcorn, fat-free or low-fat yogurt, and nut mixes.
Your take on homemade Valentine's gifts might mean an easy craft (anything heart-shaped will do), a sweet treat (think chocolates, pink candies or homemade donuts) or a DIY Valentine's Day card. Whatever your style, this roundup proves it's easier than expected to make your own presents.
