I bought a 2021 Key West 239 DFS, boat was bad and Key West stepped up and built me a new 2022 (that is excellent customer service and deserves recognition and my respect). I took the new 2022 239 DFS last week of July of 2021. Short after I noticed cracks on the deck, cracks on the gel coat and water coming from inside the hull also Garmin GPS wasn’t working. Dropped the boat at Boat and Motors Superstore on 10/09/2022 for the 20 Hrs service and also warranty repairs. I picked it up on 01/14/2022 to find out that the boat was even worst than when I left it. Dropped the boat again on 01/19/2022 and picked it up on 02/25/2022 and still have few of the same problems plus others than showed up as the boat was at the dealership. Contacted the Key West rep and Key West office as well. Dealer will have the boat back on 03/28/2022 for the Key West rep to look at it.
A boat that is 7 months old and have to be more than half of the time under repairs shows the low quality of it. I love the Customer Service of Key West, but Customer Service doesn’t mean Good Quality. I will recommend anyone thinking of buying a Key West boat to look at a different brand and DO NOT BUY A KEY WEST BOAT. I know that I can’t be the only “unlucky” person that has so many problems with 2 boats from the same manufacturer. I learned the lesson, I thought that customer service was important, but quality is more important.

The official warranty request procedure isn't this forum of course, but I did check that program and see a couple of short shipped items. With supply chain issues this is the norm rather than the exception. If the shorted item can be added easy enough at the dealership the boat is shipped without and added as they come available. I imagine that situation isn't always fully explained to the customers and that is obviously part of the problem in many cases. These computer programs are great but only know what has been entered in the system, but so far it seems everything that was short has been shipped and installed. Otherwise one cushion fastener has pulled loose. We'll see.

Waiting on key west rep (by the way, impossible to get a hold of this guy, he never returns phone calls) to look at boat. Was informed that boat also has structural problem and most likely it will have to go back to manufacturer for repairs

I would love to hear Boat and Motor Superstore's side of the story. Key West Boats has always taken care of their customers, they will do everything they can to rectify your complaints.

This is a perspective from a customer point if view, I am not a boat dealer. I am just trying to make people aware of the quality behind the brand if they are looking to buy a boat. I believe that KW will fix it. What is impossible to believe is that one person will get 2 boats in a row from the same manufacturer with so many problems. If you own a boat (pleasure killer as my wife call it) for 8 months and over 4 months has been a under repairs, I have the obligation to let other people know about what they can be getting in.

Apparently it's not so "impossible" because it happened unfortunately.
I'm so sorry that you've had this trouble, it's the first I've ever heard of something like this. What's happening with you right now and your situation is a very "out of the norm" issue. Every Key West I've ever seen or been on has been as close to perfect as one could hope for.
Good luck with the problem. I hope it gets resolved soon.

Leave the boat at the dealer until they and/or Keywest have addressed your concerns. That is what the warranty is for.
Remember boats are not like cars, most are not made on an an assembly line with mass production. They are large, heck huge, hand made items that require lots of man hours to assemble. The lower volumes and lack of automation in the assembly process creates the opportunity for defects. Its common to find some issues upon delivery.

Do you have pics of where the cracks are? Also, what made you realize that there was water in the hull? A sounding?

I am not trying to request a warranty work over this forum. Just trying to make buyers aware.
Is more concerning the cracking noise from the floor in the head, the fiberglass coming apart from the hardtop, cracks on the deck (since original delivery day) than a loose cushion holder.

I am not saying that the boats weren’t good, but definitely not as good as it could anymore.
Thank you

Dealer had the boat for over 4 months (plus they have it again this week). I had the boat in my possession less than 4 months. That is plenty of time for a dealer to fix few things.
Building something using automation or 100% manually doesn’t make any difference. It comes up to: it is good or it is not good. Anything in between are excuses.
