Tom Brady Super Bowl Wins: How many times he won and with what teams? (2024)
NFL legend Tom Brady retired after 22 years in the league. His decision to call time on his career came just six days after he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Los Angeles Rams in dramatic style.
It was with the Buccaneers that Brady won his seventh, and what has turned out to be his final, Super Bowl ring, which is a record for any player in history. It is also more Super Bowl wins than any one franchise has ever won.
It was maybe the seventh that was the most impressive of his Super Bowl wins as the Buccaneers had been one of the worst teams in the entire country before he arrived in Florida.
His previous six rings were all won at the New England Patriots, who he played for between 2000 and 2019.
Looking back at Tom Brady's seven Super Bowls
Three wins in four years saw Brady kickstart his career with success, as he won the Super Bowls held at the end of the 2001, 2003 and 2004 seasons, beating the St Louis Rams, Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles on those occasions.
Then came a 10 year wait for his next Super Bowl victory after defeats in 2007 and 2011, both to the New York Giants. He was a champion again in the 2014 season, with the Patriots back on top beating the Seattle Seahawks in Arizona.
He then went on to do it again two years later as the Patriots won out against the Atlanta Falcons in Houston at the end of the 2016 season, producing a remarkable comeback, winning 34-28 after having been down 28-3.
His sixth and final win with the Patriots came two years after that in the 2018 season, after a low-scoring 13-3 triumph over the LA Rams, before he won last year in his first campaign with the Buccaneers, overcoming Kansas City on home soil.
Brady's career records include the most touchdown passes, most games won, most Super Bowl appearances and wins, while he is the only quarterback to win the big one with teams from both the AFC and the NFC. What an athlete.
He and Peyton Manning are the only starting quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl for more than one franchise, with Brady winning six for the Patriots and one for the Buccaneers. In his seven victories, Brady set the record for Super Bowl MVP awards with five.
Future Pro Football Hall of Famer Tom Brady did plenty of winning during his illustrious career. Brady won seven of his 10 Super Bowl appearances to be exact.
Unfortunately, the Pats didn't complete the three-peat in 2005, being eliminated by the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round. By the end of his age-28 season, Brady had a 10-1 playoff record and three rings to his name.
Tom Brady's seven Super Bowl wins are the most among any quarterbacks – and all players – in NFL history. Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana are both tied for second all-time among starting quarterbacks with four Super Bowl victories.
Which teams have the most Super Bowl wins? The New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers are both tied for the most Super Bowl wins with six each. The Patriots also have the most Super Bowl appearances in history with 11, having lost the title game five times.
The Patriots and Broncos are tied for the most Super Bowl losses at five. The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars are the four teams to have never appeared in a Super Bowl, although the Browns and Lions both won NFL championships before the Super Bowl era.
In the NFC, there's only team still playing that has never won a Super Bowl and that's the Detroit Lions. In the AFC, the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills are the only two teams that have never won a Super Bowl. Although the Bills have never won the big game, they can at least say that they've been there four times.
Which NFL quarterback has the most Super Bowl losses? Jim Kelly lost all four of his Super Bowl starts, and they came in back-to-back-to-back-back years. Kelly and the Buffalo Bills made Super Bowls XXV, XXVI, XXVII and XXVIII but came up short each time.
Mahomes has led the Chiefs to six consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances and four Super Bowl appearances since becoming the team's starting quarterback in 2018. He is one of five quarterbacks in NFL history to win three or more Super Bowls as a starter.
